The AccuVote Optical Scanner (OS) is a precinct ballot tabulation machine. Winnebago County uses the AccuVote OS as its method of ballot tabulation. This voting equipment:

• Optically scans paper ballots
• Maintains a running tally on memory card
• Allows absentee ballot counting after polling ballots are tabulated
• Prints results reports after election is closed
