All Election Judges have equal authority and responsibility to uphold the law on Election Day. All Election Judges act as a board in making decisions and the majority rules.
Election Judges, by majority decision, have the sole power to:
- Allow or disallow a voter challenge
- Remove unauthorized Pollwatchers and those deemed a disruption to the election process
- Limit the number of Pollwatchers
Polling Place problems
All persons present in the Polling Place or within the campaign-free zone must obey the lawful orders of the Judges. Elections Judges should:
- Resolve problems honestly, fairly, and as quickly as possible
- Contact County Clerk’s office for advice
- Seek assistance from local law enforcement officers, if necessary
