Each Pollwatcher must be registered to vote in Winnebago County and must possess valid credentials.

Pollwatcher regulations

• Candidates, political parties, civic organizations, and organized proponents and opponents of a ballot proposition may appoint Pollwatchers
• Credentials must be surrendered to Election Judges and returned to the County Clerk’s office after the polls close
• When two Pollwatchers are present in the precinct at the same time, one must be a registered voter in that specific precinct

 In elections to nominate or elect officers in municipalities situated in two or more counties, a Pollwatcher who is registered in the municipality may serve in any Polling Place in the municipality, regardless of his or her county or residence.
