If for any reason a voter spoils his or her ballot, the voter may return it to the ballot distribution Judge and get another ballot.
A ballot CANNOT be issued for a spoiled ballot that has been deposited in the ballot box.
When a ballot is spoiled
- Locate the voter application on the spindle.
- Mark an X in the Spoiled Ballot section on the bottom, left of the application.
- Mark the returned ballot “Spoiled” and place it in the Spoiled Ballot Envelope inside the maroon binder.
- Give the voter a second ballot of the same style. Be sure to initial the new ballot. Do not change the sequence number on the application. The sequence number tracks the total number of ballots given out.
The total number of ballots placed in the ballot box plus the number recorded on the AccuVote TSX machine should equal the number of voters.
